 End Period Poverty(EPP) 3.0 With Ife– Menstrual Health Awareness and Sanitary Pad Distribution

On March 10, 2026, a menstrual health outreach program titled “End Period Poverty” With Ife was successfully held at New Church Grammar School, Owo. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene while providing essential sanitary products to young girls.

The project focused on educating young girls about proper menstrual hygiene practices, breaking the silence and stigma often associated with menstruation, and empowering them with accurate health information. During the sensitization session, participants were taught the importance of maintaining good hygiene during their menstrual cycle, proper use and disposal of sanitary products, and the need for confidence and self-care during menstruation.

As part of the outreach, over 200 girls were provided with sanitary pads, helping to reduce the challenge of period poverty and ensuring that the girls can attend school comfortably and confidently during their menstrual cycle.

The success of the project was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, donors, and volunteers who contributed their time and resources to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these young girls. Their commitment helped create an environment where the girls could learn, ask questions, and feel supported.

The “End Period Poverty” initiative reinforces the importance of community involvement in addressing menstrual health challenges and promoting dignity, education, and well-being for young girls. Efforts like this continue to play a vital role in ensuring that no girl is held back because of her period.
